The half moon diamonds are used mainly for side stones and have the profile of half a round or half an oval shape diamond. They have a straight edge on one side and curved side on the other. These particular stones have step cut faceting in 3/4 (3 on crown, 4 on pavilion) layout and look sharp and crisp.

Half moon side stones look great with rectangular or elongated center stones such as princess, radiant or emerald because they have one straight side. Because of the rounded edge, half moon diamonds also work well with oval shaped stones. These stones have a good surface area and weights accordingly depending upon the height. Majorly accepted as side stones to some of the big centre stones on a ring, everyone has their own preferences in selecting the faceting i.e brilliant cut or step cut.
